SUMMARY OF TOPICS

Underwriters Laboratories is inviting interested stakeholders to apply for membership on a new UL Standards Technical Panel (STP) on Control and Communication Units for Mass Notification Systems. The new STP will have responsibility for developing and maintaining new UL Standard ANSI/UL 2572, Standard for Control and Communication Units for Mass Notification Systems. The new standard will establish the safety requirements for discrete electrical control units, communication units, and accessories for emergency communication and mass notification systems, for installation and use in accordance with the requirements of the National Fire Alarm Code (NFPA 72), and NFPA 1221, Standard for the Installation, Maintenance, and Use of Emergency Services Communication Systems.
