  • How large is a PDF in megabytes?

    Standards PDFs are between 1 and 5 megabytes.

  • Can I "cut and paste" sections from a PDF document?

    While it is technically possible, this is a violation of UL's License Agreement.

  • If I am not sure which Standard(s) apply to my product, who can I contact to determine which Standards I need?

    You may contact Customer Service at +1-877-ULHELPS (854-3577) or view their web site at UL.com for more information.

  • How often does a Standard get revised or updated?

    Each UL Standard is unique, and although most (if not all) Standards do change over time, revisions and updates regarding a particular Standard are based on the needs in insuring public safety and confidence and improving quality.

  • Does Comm 2000 offer a service that will let me know when new documents are issued for a specific UL Standard?

    Yes, Comm 2000 offers a Standards Alert Service (SAS). This is a free service. You must be logged in to view more details here.

  • What is Comm 2000's return policy?

    Hardcopy Published Standards and test equipment may be returned within 30 days of purchase. Electronic Standards may be returned within 5 days of purchase. All returns must be pre-approved. All age-dated materials are non-returnable. No credit will be given for a returned item that has been damaged in any way, including printed material that has been smudged or is dirty, has damage to the spiral binding, or signs of it being copied. Returns are subjected to freight charges and a 15% restocking fee. Please note: no returns will be accepted without an authorization number. All returns must be clearly marked on the outside of package.

  • When I order a Standard (PDF/Web delivery) how will I receive this?
    PDF file(s) are available for download immediately following your purchase. Upon completion of your order you will also receive an email confirmation with a link to download the file from our website. PDF files are not sent to your email.
  • What is a Secure PDF?
    Secure PDFs are encrypted with Digital Rights Management (DRM) software. Secure PDFs can be opened on one computer per user license. Additional user licenses are available for purchase. In order to open a Secure PDF, you will need to install the FileOpen plug-in and register your computer. An internet connection is required to open a Secure PDF. The Secure PDF file needs to remain open for offline viewing. A Secure PDF license can be re-assigned to a different computer if necessary. Adobe Acrobat Reader DC is recommended for viewing Secure PDFs, however, other third party viewers are supported.

    While printing documents is permitted, we do not provide support for this feature.
  • How do I save a PDF File?
    When opening the PDF file, click Save File, then select the folder where you want the file saved and click OK Otherwise, click File, then Save As, OK
  • Does UL offer a subscription service?

    Standards Subscription Service: UL offers two subscription services to choose from:

  • What is the Annual Standards Program Online?
    ASPO was developed to address the needs of organizations who utilize Standards in high volume. ASPO provides secure online access to UL's entire Standards collection in PDF and HTML format. Documents are fully printable and watermarked for security purposes. Users are assigned an ID and password and may customize their Standards library to receive updates on the Standards they use most.
  • What are the payment methods accepted by Comm 2000?
    Comm 2000 accepts: AMEX, MasterCard, VISA, Discover Company checks (U.S. banks only) International/domestic wire transfer PayPal for international orders only
  • How can I find what I have ordered in the past?

  • How can I track my package?

  • Will I receive an invoice?

    An order invoice is emailed to the address specified in your Comm 2000 account. A printable invoice is also available via our website under Order History & Tracking.

  • What are my shipping options?

    Comm 2000 offers: UPS Ground, UPS 2 Day Air, and UPS Next Day Air. Our website offers the ability to calculate freight instantaneously and allows you to track your orders on the web. Orders are processed Monday through Friday. Orders placed by 3pm Central Standard Time will ship the same day.

  • Can I print or make multiple copies of a UL Standard?

    The recipient or user of these documents may not copy, license, lease, publish, assign (whether directly or indirectly, by operation of law or otherwise), transmit, scan, publish on a network, or otherwise reproduce, disclose or make available to others or create derivative works from, the Product or any portion thereof unless specifically authorized by Underwriters Laboratories Inc. Recipient or user agrees to not remove any proprietary legends or markings, including copyright notices.
