1 Scope

1.1 This outline covers prefabricated wiring assemblies comprised of electrical components that could be field assembled and inspected by an Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), but are assembled in the factory prior to field installation.

1.2 Prefabricated wiring assemblies incorporate conduit, tubing or cable, conductors, fittings and/or other Certified electrical components intended for field installation in accordance with ANSI/NFPA 70, National Electrical Code (NEC). They may be factory assembled to outlet or junction boxes, box-mounting brackets, and wiring devices.

1.3 Materials, including the methods used for the installation of electrical, mechanical and heating equipment incorporated in these assemblies by the manufacturer, are in accordance with ANSI/NFPA 72, National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code, and model building and mechanical codes.

1.4 Prefabricated wiring assemblies may be completely or partially assembled together at the factory or may consist of a package with all components included within the package.

1.5 This outline does not include assemblies that can be investigated under other standards.
