2 Scope

2.1 This Standard covers all printing inks and optimizers, intended to be used by individual consumers and/or businesses, as further defined in the following subcategories:

a)    Solvent-Based Inks which include:

1)    Sheetfed offset;

2)    Heatset web offset;

3)    Coldest web offset;

4)    Letterpress;

5)    Gravure;

6)    Flexographic;

7)    Inkjet; and

8)    Screen printing;

b)    Water-Based Inks which include:

1)    Flexographic;

2)    Gravure;

3)    Inkjet; and

4)    Screen printing;

c)    Ultra Violet (UV) Curable Inks which include:

1)    Inkjet UV inks; and

2)    Screen printing inks.

d)    Water-based Optimizers which include:

1)    Cross-web coating; and

2)    Targeted deposition.
