The following changes in requirements to the Standard for Thermistor-Type Devices, UL 1434, are being proposed for preliminary review and comment only:

1. For Preliminary Review Only: Recognition Of The Proposed Second Edition Standard For Thermistor-Type Devices, UL 1434 As An American National Standard; Major Proposed Technical Changes In The Draft Standard Include: (a) Relocation Of Component Standard References From Appendix A Into The Body Of The Standard As Component Requirements; (b) Changes To Calibration Tests For PTC And NTC Thermisors - Replacement Of Repeat R/T Test Requirement With Calibration Tests Specific To The Application And Determination Of Temperature Drift For Sensors By Absolute Temperatures; (c) Clarification Of Heat-Cold-Humidity Tests For PTC And NTC Sensors - Conditioning Sensors At Maximum Rated Sensing Temperature; And (d) Clarification Of Number Of Cycles For The Endurance Test For PTC Current-Limiting Controls
