The following changes in requirements are being proposed:

1. Revision to Mandrel Requirements to Permit the Use of Smaller Sized Mandrels

2. Specification of Nichrome Support Wire for Repeated Flame Tests

3. Correction of Inadvertent Omission of Char Length Requirements from Horizontal Specimen/FT2 Flame Test

4. Substantive Revisions to UL 1581 Including a) Deletion of Tables Containing Redundant Materials Requirements; b) Revisions to Materials Tables Including i) Revision of SI Units for Tensile Strength; ii) Deletion of Fahrenheit Temperature from Wire and Cable Temperature Ratings; iii) Deletion of Class Number for Material Identification, and iv) Miscellaneous Revisions for Consistency with Other Wire and Cable Standards and Requirements; and c) Establishment of New 7-Day Aging Requirements for 125 C Type EPDM and 90 C Type FRPE

5. Revision and Deletion of Requirements in UL 1581 Due to the Publication of UL 2556 and Miscellaneous Editorial Corrections and Clarifications
