The following changes in requirements to the Standard for Self-Ballasted Lamps and Lamp Adapters, UL 1993, are being proposed for preliminary review and comment only:

1. For Preliminary Review Only: Proposed copper-alloy screw bases and moist ammonia air stress cracking test option for copper alloys.

2. For Preliminary Review Only: Proposed maximum conductive length of edison screw bases

3. For Preliminary Review Only: Proposed evaluation of tack-soldered electrical connections.

4. For Preliminary Review Only: Proposed drop impact test determination for severely damaged lamps.

5. For Preliminary Review Only: Proposed thickness of metal G5 and G13 lamp bases.

6. For Preliminary Review Only: Proposed lamps with movable joints.

7. For Preliminary Review Only: Proposed revision to Type A lamps - Revisions to HF test source.

8. For Preliminary Review Only: Proposed requirements for evaluating LED lamps as direct replacements for specific high intensity discharge (HID) lamps.

9. For Preliminary Review Only: Proposed Type A/B tube lamp markings.

10. For Preliminary Review Only: Proposed requirements for Linear LED lamps.

11. For Preliminary Review Only: Proposed Revision of thermal testing requirements for Self-Ballasted lamps intended for use in enclosed luminaires (partially and fully enclosed) suitable for Type IC, recessed- luminaire applications.

12. For Preliminary Review Only: Proposed Revision of Labeling and marking of physically small LED replacement lamps.

13. For Preliminary Review Only: Proposed requirements for Temperature Test - LED Lamps.

14. For Preliminary Review Only: Proposed modification to re-lamping test method to reflect risks associated with LEDs.

15. For Preliminary Review Only: Proposed addition of Supplement SE - Special Use Lamps.

16. For Preliminary Review Only: Proposed suggestion to remove "DC component" requirement for Type A lamp.
